Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor - Poolside Terrace

Poolside Terrace

Al fresco food and drink

Poolside dining in Siem Reap doesn’t get more special than this. Surrounded by fragrant Frangipani trees, the swimming pool is one of the largest in Cambodia and, many would say, the most beautiful. Modelled after the Royal Baths at Angkor, Srah Srang, it’s a perfectly idyllic spot for light daytime meals and refreshing fruity cocktails.

As well as poolside favourites, the menu features a selection of light and healthy Raffles Spa dishes. If you’re in the mood for romance, your butler can also arrange an intimate candlelit dinner for two under Cambodian skies.

Leisurely Pursuits

When Raffles first opened its doors, guests couldn’t rely on modern transit to cross the rough terrain on their journey to the hotel. Instead, they came by elephant. And thus the legend of the Elephant Bar was born.

This is Siem Reap’s most celebrated bar. A striking alternative to the bars on Pub Street, the Elephant Bar is all about old-worldly elegance and sophistication. The sipping cabinet contains the largest collection of whiskies and bourbons in Cambodia, to be enjoyed while contemplating the lithographic prints of ancient Angkor and Cambodian life on the walls.

No visit to Angkor Wat would be complete without stopping by the Elephant Bar to taste our signature cocktail, the Airavata – a sublime blend of rum, coconut, passion fruit, lime juice, crème de banane and pineapple juice named in honour of the great white elephant, carrier of Indra and master of the clouds. So come raise a glass to the ten-tusked elephant god with us, and cast good omens over your stay in Siem Reap.

Bespoke Signature Cocktails

Raffles Afternoon Tea can be enjoyed daily in the wonderfully languid atmosphere of The Conservatory, overlooking the hotel swimming pool and gardens. Feel like you’ve travelled to an age when time was less of the essence and social networks were forged without screens and technology.

Create long-lasting memories of your stay with us in Siem Reap by partaking in a time-honoured Raffles teatime ritual. Served daily between 2.30pm and 5.30pm, Afternoon tea lets you choose between our Classic, Signature or Heritage menus, served to you by waiters and waitresses dressed in traditional olden-day uniforms. In the evenings, you can enjoy cocktails and aperitifs as our resident pianist tickles the ivories on the grand piano (from 5.30pm to 9.15pm, Tuesday to Sunday).

Signature Dishes

This is one of only two places in the world where you can savour dishes once served only to Khmer kings and queens, the other being our sister hotel in Phnom Penh, Raffles Hotel Le Royal. Alongside exclusive recipes, handed down by generations of royal chefs then gifted to the hotel by royal decree, dine on dishes the Khmer people served in their homes, revisited with modern flair.

Savour fine ingredients, sourced locally in the Mekong and Tonlé Sap River region. The fragrant herbs and spices are gathered daily in the hotel gardens, guaranteeing fresh, sustainable cuisine. The wine cellar, a recent addition to the restaurant, has perhaps the finest selection of wines in Asia, with a choice of over 400 vintages from around the world.

Chandeliers, ceiling fans and candelabras create an ageless ambiance that remains truly in tune with its times and destination. The only place to develop a taste for the distinct flavours of Khmer cuisine in Siem Reap.

Signature Dishes

The Raffles all-day dining restaurant, Café d’Angkor is the place to come for our famously decadent Champagne breakfast – a wonderful way to conclude an early-morning visit to the temples. Also open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant serves pan-Asian cuisine and international favourites, offering you the best of both worlds.

Dine al fresco on the terrace overlooking the pool, or indoors in the bright and sunny dining room, air-conditioned for your comfort. We’ll also prepare a picnic basket for you to take away, alongside freshly baked goods.
